Brighton & Hove Albion, Huddersfield Town play out draw

Brighton & Hove Albion and Huddersfield Town fail to find a breakthrough in their Championship clash at the Amex Stadium and earn a point apiece.

Brighton & Hove Albion and Huddersfield Town played out a goalless draw in their Championship clash at the Amex Stadium.

The game started slowly but Brighton dominated possession from the off and that led to the opening chance of the match but Kemy Agustien fired an effort just over from the edge of the penalty area.

Huddersfield responded and nearly took the lead when James Vaughan got on the end of a corner from the right but he could only head his effort wide of the target.

Paul Dixon did well on the right just before the break as he beat two men down the right and turned to shoot on his right foot but he could only fire his effort well wide of the target.

After the break, the hosts threatened but they couldn't beat Alex Smithies as Agustien latched onto a cross at the back post and powered a diving header at goal which the keeper did well to save and Will Buckley could only put the rebound over the bar.

Vaughan nearly broke the deadlock as he raided forward and tried to lob the on-rushing Peter Brezovan and he managed to get his effort over the keeper but Adam El-Abd got in behind to clear it away.

Brighton pressed late on looking for a winner but they couldn't find the quality they were looking for as David Lopez crossed the ball for Matthew Upson in the middle but he could only head his effort over the bar.
