Brentford planning quiet January window

Brentford's director of football Rasmus Ankersen reveals that the club will not be busy in the January transfer window.

Brentford's director of football Rasmus Ankersen has admitted that the club will not be doing a lot of business in the January transfer window.

The Bees, who are currently 14th in the Championship, brought in just three senior permanent signings over the summer and Ankersen expects a similarly quiet mid-season window.

"We will see what happens in January, but we are definitely looking and are very far with the process now," he told the Fulham Chronicle. "We already have a few targets we may look to add to the team, but it's not going to a revolution, it's going to be more an evolution.

"Whether it's one, two, three or even none, it's still difficult to say because we are not signing just to sign players.

"We want our targets, and if they're not possible for financial reasons, or because they don't want to come, then it's not that we will necessarily just go and sign someone else."

The Bees claimed a 1-0 victory at Bristol City on Tuesday night, making it back-to-back league wins following an alarming run of four straight defeats.
