Brazil defender Daniel Alves feels that he and his teammates must approach the Confederations Cup final without feeling inferior to Spain.

Brazil defender Daniel Alves believes that he and his teammates should shed any inferiority complex that they might have when they host Spain in the Confederations Cup final this evening.

The Selecao take on La Roja at the Maracana in Rio de Janeiro and the Barcelona right-back thinks that the players must go into the game feeling as though they can win against the world and European champions.

"To be a great champion, you have to believe that you are the best," Alves told reporters ahead of the game.

"If you aren't, then you have to act as though you are. If we go out there feeling inferior, they will put two or three goals past us in 10 minutes. We are playing at home, so we need to take the game to Spain and make them understand that this is Brazil.

"I hope that the team is up to the level required for a game like this – we're up against the best national team in the world. The final is going to be a real sight to see for those watching, I hope that we can give them something to cheer."

Luiz Felipe Scolari's side have won all their games in the competition so far.
