League One roundup: Bristol City win promotion

Sports Mole rounds up all the action from League One, where Bristol City have won promotion to the Championship.

Bristol City have won promotion to the Championship after romping to a 6-0 victory over Bradford City at the Coral Windows Stadium.

Steve Cotterill's side were in control from start to finish, with a brace from James Tavernier and goals from Joe Bryan, Luke Ayling, Aden Flint and Aaron Wilbraham sending the Robins up in style.

Second-placed Preston North End threw away a two goal lead as Leon Legge's equaliser in second-half injury time rescued a 2-2 draw for Gillingham at Deepdale.

MK Dons closed the gap on their promotion rivals to just three points as efforts from Lewis Baker, William Grigg and Dele Alli gave them a comfortable 3-0 win over Fleetwood Town, and Swindon Town remain in the hunt for automatic promotion as a first-half hat-trick from Ben Gladwin set Mark Cooper's side on their way to a 4-2 win over Rochdale at Spotland.

Chesterfield also notched six goals as Gary Roberts, Sam Clucas, Dan Gardner, Jimmy Ryan all got on the scoresheet as the Spireites recorded an emphatic win against Colchester United, who remain deep in the drop zone.

At the other end of the table, already-relegated Yeovil Town condemned Sheffield United to their first defeat in four games thanks to Stephen Arthurworrey's goal, while Crewe Alexandra climbed out of the relegation zone as Lauri Dalla Valle's goal after just three minutes earned his side a 1-1 draw with Peterborough United.

Walsall moved away from trouble and heaped pressure on Crawley Town, who slipped into the bottom four with a 5-0 win courtesy of goals from Jordy Hiwula-Mayifuila, Kieron Morris, Andy Taylor and Jordan Cook.

Ricardo Moniz's first home game in charge of Notts County ended in dramatic circumstances as Balint Bajner's 92nd-minute equaliser cancelled out Sam Winnall's twelfth strike of the season and rescued a 1-1 draw against Barnsley for the Magpies, while Leyton Orient lost 1-0 against Doncaster Rovers.

Elsewhere, Coventry City eased their relegation worries and took their unbeaten league run to three games with a 1-1 draw at home to Oldham Athletic, and Scunthorpe United and Port Vale's clash at Glanford Park also ended 1-1.
