Team News: Shinji Kagawa starts for Borussia Dortmund against Borussia Monchengladbach

Shini Kagawa is included in the Borussia Dortmund side for the Bundesliga opener against Borussia Monchengladbach.

Shini Kagawa has been named in the Borussia Dortmund side for the Bundesliga opener against Borussia Monchengladbach at Signal Iduna Park.

Despite using summer signing Gonzalo Castro from the start in his first competitive match a week ago, Thomas Tuchel has opted to start with Kagawa in trio which also includes Marco Reus and Henrikh Mkhitaryan behind lone striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Roman Burki starts ahead of Roman Weidenfeller in goal for the hosts, while Julian Weigl partners Ilkay Gundogan in the centre of midfield.

Monchengladbach boss Lucien Favre has named three summer signings in his starting lineup, with Lars Stindl, Andreas Christensen and Josip Drmic all making their league debuts for the club.

Ibrahima Traore and Fabian Johnson have been given the responsibility of providing support from wide positions as Thorgan Hazard and Patrick Herrmann start on the bench.

Borussia Dortmund: Burki; Piszczek, Hummels, Sokratis, Schmelzer; Weigl, Gündogan; Reus,
Kagawa, Mkhitaryan; Aubameyang

Borussia Monchengladbach: Sommer; Jantschke, Schulz, Christensen, Wendt; Stindl, Xhaka; Traore, Johnson Raffael; Drmic
