Half-Time Report: Raphael Schafer keeping Borussia Dortmund at bay

Borussia Dortmund are being held at half time, thanks largely to Nuremberg goalkeeper Raphael Schafer.

Nuremberg goalkeeper Raphael Schafer has had a good first half against Borussia Dortmund to stop last year's Bundesliga runners-up from leading at half time.

Dortmund started brightly and had a good chance inside five minutes. Henrikh Mkhitaryan was played through but the away goalkeeper was alert to rush off his line and smother the ball at the feet of the Armenian.

Striker Robert Lewandowski then had a chance from an indirect free kick inside the box after Schafer had picked up a back pass, but his powerful shot was blocked by the wall of bodies just in front of the line.

The goalkeeper then made another good stop as he managed to keep out Mkhitaryan, this time from a close-range shot by the midfielder.

Despite Dortmund's control of the game they very nearly found themselves behind. Sokratis Papastathopoulos passed straight to Josip Drmic, who then found Tomas Pekhart, but the striker's shot came back off the post.

The half opened up in the final 10 minutes, but the two sides went in level despite the chances at both ends.
