Bolton Wanderers will reportedly try to sign former loanee Joe Mason from Cardiff City this summer.

The 23-year-old is possibly considered surplus to requirements in the Welsh capital, according to The Bolton News, after the recent signings of Adam Le Fondre and Federico Macheda.

Mason scored six goals in two separate loan spells at the Reebok Stadium last season.

He only appeared three times for Cardiff in 2013-14, but is under contract with the Bluebirds for two more years.

Bolton are also said to be interested in securing the signing of another loanee forward from last season - Middlesbrough's Lukas Jutkiewicz.
