Neil Lennon praises "superb" Bolton Wanderers support

Bolton Wanderers manager Neil Lennon says that his side's season will truly begin this evening when they take on Brentford at the Macron Stadium.

Neil Lennon has insisted that he remains confident of keeping Bolton Wanderers in the Championship thanks to the "superb" backing from supporters.

The Trotters find themselves in a precarious position at the foot of the table after winning just one game all season.

Heading into tonight's home clash with Brentford, Lennon claims that making up the current five-point margin on 21st place is an achievable target with more than half of the campaign still to play.

Speaking to The Bolton News, he said: "The fans will be with us. Particularly at home they have been superb and we had a good turnout at Reading as well when they stayed with the team the whole way.

"I think the players are fortunate to have the group of supporters that we do. They have stayed with the team through really bad periods and I am sure it will be exactly the same on Monday night.

"We are basically saying our season starts on Monday with 28-29 games to go. It starts there. That's a big amount of games to get ourselves out of trouble and it's more than doable. But it has to start soon."

Bolton and Brentford face off this evening in just their third meeting since 1995.
