Aston Villa vs. Bolton Wanderers postponed

Bolton Wanderers are granted permission from the Premier League to postpone Tuesday's match against Aston Villa in the wake of Fabrice Muamba's cardiac arrest.

The Premier League has granted Bolton Wanderers permission to postpone Tuesday's away fixture against Aston Villa.

Wanderers were keen for the match to be called off in the wake of the cardiac arrest suffered by the midfielder Fabrice Muamba yesterday evening.

The 23-year-old is currently in a critical condition in the London Chest Hospital.

Officials from the Premier League have now confirmed that they have accepted a request from Wanderers.

"Following Fabrice Muamba's admission to hospital yesterday evening the Premier League and Aston Villa have agreed to Bolton Wanderers' request to postpone the Barclays Premier League match between the two clubs scheduled for Tuesday, March 20," read a statement on the Premier League's website.

"The match will be rearranged at a future date following appropriate consultation with the clubs.

"The thoughts of the Premier League, its clubs and players are with Fabrice Muamba, his family and Bolton Wanderers at this difficult time."

Reports are also suggesting that Bolton may also withdraw from the FA Cup.
