Cameroon coach Jean Paul Akono has hinted that Bolton Wanderers striker David Ngog is on the verge of declaring to play for the African nation.
Ngog, who was born in France and has previously played for the French Under-21 side, qualifies to play for Cameroon through his father.
"I was lucky to travel to England with the father of the Bolton Wanderers player David Ngog and he agreed to do everything to switch over to join our national team," he told Reuters.
"He will apply to FIFA to grant him permission to switch his nationality to Cameroon. I must express my gratitude to his father for his assistance.
"If everything goes to plan, he should join the Indomitable Lions very quickly."
The 23-year-old has played 24 times for Bolton this season in all competitions, scoring five goals.
