Blackpool have signed defender Tony McMahon from Sheffield United on a permanent basis.

The 27-year-old full-back only joined the Seasiders on a 28-day loan from the Blades last week, but his exit from Bramall Lane has now been made permanent.

He has put pen to paper on a contract until the end of the season at Bloomfield Road.

McMahon made 61 league appearances for United. He has already played two Championship games for Blackpool.
