FA fine Blackpool, Blackburn Rovers for failing to control players

The Football Association fine both Blackpool and Blackburn £5,000 for failing to control their players in last month's Championship game at Bloomfield Road.

The Football Association have fined both Blackpool and Blackburn Rovers £5,000 for failing to control their players in last month's Championship game at Bloomfield Road.

The fine relates to an incident in the final 10 minutes of the match in which Blackburn striker DJ Campbell rashly challenged Blackpool goalkeeper Matt Gilks.

A melee between the two teams followed and Pool defender Jack Robinson joined Campbell in being shown red as both sides finished the contest with 10 men.

The two clubs admitted to breaching FA Rule E20(a) and were today fined the standard penalty of £5,000.
