Sports Mole looks ahead to Tuesday's rearranged Championship encounter between Blackburn and Brighton at Ewood Park.

New Blackburn Rovers manager Michael Appleton will be eager for his first win on Tuesday when his side hosts Brighton & Hove Albion in the Championship.

Appleton oversaw his first match at Ewood Park on Saturday, but he could not stop Rovers slipping to a 2-1 defeat to Charlton Athletic.

Victory for Brighton could move them to within two points of the playoff places.

The original fixture between these two teams was called off at the end of December due to a waterlogged pitch.

Mauro Formica and Fabio Nunes could be included in the Blackburn squad following the duo's recent return to training.

Meanwhile, new signing Leonardo Ulloa may be available for the visitors, subject to international clearance.

Recent form:

Blackburn: LWWWDL

Brighton: DLWWWD

Possible lineups:

Blackburn: Kean; Mn Olsson, Dann, Kane, G Hanley; Lowe, Murphy, Vukcevic, Rochina; Rhodes, Kazim-Richards

Brighton: Kuszczak; Greer, El-Abd, Calderon, Bridge; Hammond, Orland, Buckley, Bridcutt; Barnes Mackail-Smith

Sports Mole says: 1-2
