Shane Duffy 'frustrated' by winless Blackburn Rovers run

Blackburn Rovers defender Shane Duffy admits to being 'frustrated' by his side's slow start to the season, but insists that confidence still remains high in the camp.

Shane Duffy has admitted that Blackburn Rovers are desperate to get off the mark in the Championship.

The Ewood Park outfit have drawn four of their opening seven games, with the other three ending in defeat.

Blackburn have had their fair share of bad luck in recent times, seeing a goal wrongly ruled out against Fulham and being denied late on at Queens Park Rangers last time out.

Despite the setbacks, Duffy insists that the confidence still remains high inside the Rovers dressing room ahead of the visit of Charlton Athletic this weekend.

"That's football for you," he told the club's official website of his side's draw at Loftus Road. "I'm disappointed not to get the three points, I'd have definitely swapped the goal for the three points," said the Irishman.

"It sums our season up so far, but you can't get too down about it, it is still a point away from home. Anyone who saw the match knows that we were the better team but it is a point, but hopefully this will give us the confidence to kick on.

"We're a confident team anyway, the performances have been there, it is just that results matter and they aren't there at the moment. It is just frustrating. The fans and the players want the first win, just to get it out of the way, so hopefully it is not too far away."

Blackburn occupy 23rd place in the Championship table, sitting one point adrift of safety inside the bottom three.
