Ben Marshall is likely to miss two months of the season with an ankle injury, Gary Bowyer admits.

Blackburn Rovers manager Gary Bowyer has confirmed that Ben Marshall is likely to be out for a "couple of months" after picking up an ankle injury in the 1-1 draw with Derby County last week.

Initial scans proved inconclusive, but further assessment has revealed that Marshall requires an operation.

"It's going to be a couple of months but we might just get him back for the end of the season," Bowyer told the Lancashire Telegraph.
