Blackburn Rovers boss Gary Bowyer believes that loan signing Alex Baptiste's versatility will solve a number of problems in his team this season.

Blackburn Rovers boss Gary Bowyer has praised the versatility of Alex Baptiste following his arrival at the club on loan.

The Bolton Wanderers defender, 28, signed a season-long deal at Ewood Park last week.

"We're delighted to get him," Bowyer told the club's official website.

"It has been no secret in terms of where we felt we've needed to strengthen and in Alex we've gained more than just one player, he can play anywhere across the back four."

Blackburn return to pre-season action on July 23 when they travel to Accrington Stanley.
