Birmingham City reportedly close in on the free signing of Clayton Donaldson from Brentford.

Birmingham City have reportedly closed in on the free signing of Clayton Donaldson from Brentford.

The 30-year-old started every league game for the Bees last season, scoring 17 goals, but is out of contract this summer.

Brentford have offered him a new deal, but he has been lured by the deal from the Blues, according to the Birmingham Mail.

If Donaldson does opt to switch to St Andrew's, he will become the Blues' seventh signing of a busy summer so far for Lee Clark.
