Nikola Zigic claims that Birmingham City could reach the Premier League this season.

Nikola Zigic has said that he believes Birmingham City can make a return to the Premier League this season.

The Serbia international admitted that he has been impressed by the signings made by new manager Lee Clark.

The striker insisted that the Blues are capable of going one better than last term's playoff failure and securing promotion from the Championship.

"We have got a great team and we have acquired some really great players and obviously the new manager as well," said the former Valencia man.

"With a bit of luck and if things go for us, I really do feel this could be our year, with everybody we have got, to reach the Premier League.

"Certainly, the squad of players we have got and the ones who have come along, we are good enough and well equipped to get into and handle the Premier League."

Zigic joined Birmingham from Valencia in 2010 for a fee believed to be around £6m.
