Birmingham City defender Jonathan Spector is ruled out for six weeks with a fractured cheekbone.

Birmingham City defender Jonathan Spector has been ruled out for six weeks through injury.

The USA international has been told that he needs surgery after fracturing his cheekbone during a friendly against MK Dons last week.

The former Manchester United player is now expected to miss the start of the Championship season.

Birmingham get their campaign underway at home to Watford on August 3.
