Belgium coach Marc Wilmots has declared that his team are "preparing for war" against the USA ahead of the World Cup last-16 clash between the two sides.

The teams meet on Tuesday for the right to play either Argentina or Switzerland in the quarter-finals, and Wilmots is expecting a physical encounter.

"Physically they are very strong. We are preparing for a war," BBC Sport quotes him as saying.

Belgium have won four out of their last five meetings with the USA, most recently beating the Americans 4-2 in a friendly last May.
