Team News: Mario Gotze misses out for Bayern Munich

An injury keeps Mario Gotze out of the Bayern Munich squad for their Bundesliga clash with Augsburg.

Mario Gotze has been left out of the Bayern Munich squad for the meeting with Augsburg due to injury.

A muscular problem prevents Pep Guardiola from picking the attacking midfielder, but he is expected to return for the Champions League clash with Olympiacos in midweek.

Robert Lewandowski is given the responsibility of leading the line for the hosts, with support arriving from Thomas Muller and Douglas Costa as Arjen Robben begins another spell on the sidelines.

There is also a start for Thiago Alcantara in midfield, while Kingsley Coman is on the Bayern bench at the Allianz Arena.

Koo Ja-Cheol makes his first start for Augsburg since arriving in the summer, and Markus Weinzierl sticks with Raul Bobadilla as a lone striker in the hope that his side can pick up their first league win of the season.

Bayern Munich: Neuer, Lahm, Rafinha, Boateng, Alaba, Alonso, Vidal, Thiago, Müller, Douglas Costa, Lewandowski
Subs: Ulreich, Martinez, Bernat, Rode, Coman, Kimmich

Augsburg: Hitz, Verhaegh, Hong, Klavan, Feulner, Baier, Kohr, Koo, Esswein, Werner, Bobadilla
