Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos has claimed that he was "disappointed" at not starting for Germany in their World Cup qualification win over Republic of Ireland on Friday.
The 22-year-old started the match on the bench, but netted twice after coming on at half time in a 6-1 win for the Germans.
However, he is expected to be on the bench once more when Germany welcome Sweden to Berlin on Tuesday.
"Obviously you're disappointed when you've made such a good start to the season [at club level], but don't start [for the national side]," Kroos told the official Bayern website.
"Those who know me are well aware that I have confidence in myself, and it's my opinion that I ought to be playing somewhere.
"But it's not something I can influence. Naturally, we have tremendous quality and many options, especially in midfield. I've arrived in very good form, and I went out and confirmed it [against Ireland], no more and no less."
Kroos has scored four goals for Bayern this season.
