Half-Time Report: Augsburg leading Bayern Munich

Augsburg lead champions Bayern Munich 1-0 at the break in the Bundesliga, thanks to a goal from Sascha Molders.

Bayern Munich, who have already wrapped up the Bundesliga title, are behind to Augsburg courtesy of a goal on the half-hour mark from Sascha Molders.

The home side started very brightly and several of their players were finding space in behind the makeshift Bayern backline, but there were no chances early on.

It was the away side who had the first real opening of the game on 10 minutes as Xherdan Shaqiri went for goal from distance, but with Marwin Hitz scrambling, the ball went just wide of the post.

Then with the best piece of football of the half, Augsburg created a glorious opening. Paul Verhaegh spread the ball to Alexander Esswein, who in turn picked out the open Halil Altintop, but his free header was tipped over by Manuel Neuer.

Five minutes later the hosts were deservedly ahead. Daniel Baier won the ball in midfield, drove forward and found Molders, who finished really well into the top corner beyond Neuer.
