UEFA charge Basel, Galatasaray, Borussia Dortmund

UEFA charges Basel, Galatasaray and Borussia Dortmund following the poor conduct of their fans in the Champions League in midweek.

UEFA has confirmed that disciplinary proceedings have been opened against Basel and Galatasaray following the behaviour of their fans in Champions League matches against Liverpool and Arsenal respectively.

Borussia Dortmund have also been charged by the European governing body in relation to crowd disturbances and setting off and throwing fireworks during their 3-0 victory over Anderlecht last night.

Action could be taken against Swiss champions Basel after they were charged with 'throwing missiles' following the emergence of an object on the pitch, which appeared to have been hurled by a Basel fan during their 1-0 win over Liverpool.

Arsenal's 4-1 win over Galatasaray was partly marred when flares were thrown onto the pitch from the away end at the Emirates.

UEFA have confirmed that the Turkish club have been charged with crowd disturbances and throwing fireworks.
