Goals from George Boyd and Tyrone Barnett give Peterborough United a 2-0 lead over Barnsley away from home.

Peterborough United are leading Barnsley 2-0 away from home at half-time in this evening's Championship clash.

The visitors went ahead as early as the second minute when George Boyd found the target from just six yards with a left-footed shot.

Eight minutes later Tyrone Barnett made it 2-0 to Peterborough when he headed home Tommy Rowe's left-wing cross from 12 yards.

Barnsley came close to pulling one back on 14 minutes when Chris Dagnall shot Jacob Mellis's corner towards goals, but Robert Olejnik made a comfortable save.

Three minutes later Barnett tried his luck with a shot, but he was denied by Ben Alnwick in the Barnsley goal.
