Conference Premier roundup: Macclesfield Town surprise Barnet

Sports Mole rounds up Tuesday evening's action in the Conference Premier as Barnet see their lead at the top of the table reduced to three points.

Goals from Scott Barrow and Chris Holroyd have earned Macclesfield Town a surprise 2-1 victory over Conference Premier leaders Barnet.

The Londoners had the better of the fixture at Moss Rose but two second-half strikes saw their lead at the top of the standings cut to three points.

Gateshead have moved into second place after a double from Jon Shaw gave the North-East side a 2-0 victory over Alfreton Town.

Halifax Town failed to fully capitalise on Barnet's loss as they were twice pegged back by Wrexham, who had Louis Moult to thank after he netted two second-half goals.

Bristol Rovers have moved into fourth position after a Matty Taylor effort was enough for them to edge past Dartford by a 1-0 scoreline.

Forest Green Rovers made it seven points from nine with a narrow triumph at AFC Telford United, who continue to struggle after promotion last season.

Altrincham's solid form continued as they earned a goalless draw at Grimsby Town, while Chester FC overtook Aldershot Town in the table after a 1-0 win at the Deva Stadium.

Nuneaton Town moved closer to exiting the relegation zone after prevailing from a five-goal thriller with Dover Athletic, with the final match of the evening seeing Southport and Lincoln City sharing six goals at Haig Avenue.
