Bayern Munich sporting director Matthias Sammer has quelled suggestions that the club have agreed to sign Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara.
The 22-year-old has been widely linked with a move to Manchester United this summer, but it has been reported that the German outfit have now emerged as favourites for his signature.
However, Sammer told Bild: "Why would we not communicate it if something was signed? No, of course that is not the case."
Bayern coach Pep Guardiola recently revealed that he wants to sign his former midfielder before the start of the new season.
