USA international Fabian Johnson emerges as a reported transfer target for Barcelona.

Barcelona are reportedly preparing a surprise move for USA international Fabian Johnson.

The 26-year-old moved from Hoffenheim to Borussia Monchengladbach this summer, with that transfer confirmed before the start of the World Cup in Brazil.

Johnson's performances at the 2014 competition drew a host of admiring glances, with the full-back one of the most impressive performers in Brazil.

According to AS, Barcelona have identified the defender as the perfect addition and are confident that Gladbach would be willing to cash in if a suitable offer is made.

Johnson has recently joined his new club for a pre-season training.
