Rafinha signs new Barcelona deal

Barcelona announce that Brazilian midfielder Rafinha has signed a new long-term contract with the Catalan club, which will run until the summer of 2020.

Brazilian attacker Rafinha has officially put pen to paper on a new Barcelona contract that will run until the summer of 2020.

The 22-year-old, who came through the youth system at the Catalan club, made three appearances at the start of the season, but has been sidelined with a serious knee problem since September.

Earlier this month, it was confirmed that the midfielder had agreed terms on a new long-term deal, but all the paperwork has now been signed, with his buy-out clause now standing in the region of £53m.

"I'm very happy. It's very nice to be enjoying this. Barca is my home. I came here when I was just 13 and I'm very happy to be here," Rafinha told the club's official website upon signing the new deal.

Rafinha, who made 45 appearances for Barcelona in all competitions last season, is not expected to play again this term as he recovers from a cruciate ligament rupture.
