Nottingham Forest are monitoring former Barcelona defender Roger Riera, according to a report.

Nottingham Forest are reportedly interested in signing former Barcelona youngster Roger Riera.

The 19-year-old, who captained the Catalan club at all youth levels, has spent the last nine years at their famous La Masia academy.

However, Barcelona announced that they would not be extending the defender's contract when his deal expired earlier this summer.

Forest are hoping to complete the signing of Riera, according to BBC Radio Nottingham.

Riera skippered the Barcelona Under-19 side to the youth Champions League title last season.
