Xavi: 'Gerardo Martino is like Luis Aragones'

Xavi compares Barcelona manager Gerardo Martino to former Spain boss Luis Aragones.

Spanish international midfielder Xavi has compared Barcelona manager Gerardo Martino to former Spain boss Luis Aragones.

Xavi, 33, who played under Aragones for four years at international level, believes that the two share similarities in their approach to each game.

"I like his style of football, he reminds me of Luis Aragones. He is very football-focused, talks to you face-to-face. He has understood the system and style of play of Barcelona," he told BeInSport.

"He consults a lot with the players of Barcelona who have been here for a long tie. He is very close to the players and is a winner.

"He has had success in Argentina and is well respected there. This helps him a lot at Barca."

Barcelona currently top La Liga by three points.
