New Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has expressed his delight at signing for the La Liga giants.

The German keeper signed a five-year deal earlier this week, and said that he cannot wait to get started at Camp Nou next season.

"When I heard about their interest for the first time, I smiled from ear to ear," Ter Stegen told reporters. "It was my dream to come here. There is no better place than Barcelona.

"Offers like these don't come along every day, Barca are one of the biggest clubs in the world. For me I think it is a personal challenge. I hope that we can play an effective style of football.

"Defending this goal will be the best thing in my life. I intend to give it everything I've got. I want to adapt well and play good football."

Meanwhile, Barca recently announced Luis Enrique as their new coach.
