Barcelona forward Luis Suarez has described his side's upcoming clash with Real Madrid as being like a cup final.

The Catalans sit a point clear of their bitter rivals in the La Liga table ahead of their meeting at Camp Nou on Sunday evening.

"It is a final because Real Madrid-Barcelona games are always played in that spirit, with a lot of intensity and strength," Suarez told Marca.

"They are very intense games but we are also aware that anything can happen these days in La Liga.

"What's great about La Liga nowadays is that every team provides tough competition and I don't think that the Clasico will actually be all that decisive."

Real Madrid came out on top when the teams met earlier this season courtesy of a 3-1 victory at the Bernabeu.
