Alexis Sanchez says that Espanyol put Barcelona through their paces in last night's Catalan derby at the Camp Nou.

Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez has put his match-winning goal against Espanyol down to luck.

Blaugrana needed just the one goal to overcome their Catalan rivals at the Camp Nou, which sees them open up a four-point gap over Atletico Madrid at the top of La Liga.

"It was a difficult game," Football Espana quotes the Chilean as saying.

"In the end I was happy I could get the goal. I was just lucky to be in the right place at the right time."

Los Colchoneros can cut the deficit to one point with victory over Athletic Bilbao at the Vicente Calderon on Sunday.
