Barcelona team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Leganes

Sports Mole rounds up Barcelona's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's La Liga clash with Leganes.

Barcelona will be looking to consolidate first spot at the top of La Liga when they travel to struggling Leganes on Saturday afternoon.

The Spanish champions are currently top of the pile in Spain's top flight, level on points with second-placed Real Madrid.

Ernesto Valverde's side have won eight of their 12 league fixtures this season but have already suffered three defeats during an inconsistent start to the campaign.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Barca's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the match.

Nelson Semedo

Status: Out
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: Unknown

Nelson Semedo picked up a calf problem during the clash with Celta Vigo before the international break and will miss out this weekend. The Portugal international faces a battle to return before the end of the year.

Jordi Alba

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Jordi Alba, who has had more than his fair share of injury problems this season, picked up a hamstring strain during the Champions League clash with Slavia Prague on November 5. The Spanish champions have not put a timeframe on the defender's return, although he is a huge doubt to feature against Leganes.

Ivan Rakitic

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Achilles
Possible return date: November 23 (vs. Leganes)

Ivan Rakitic, who has struggled to earn a starting role for Barca this season, has emerged as a doubt after picking up an Achilles injury while training with Croatia during the international break.

BARCELONA'S SUSPENSION LIST

Barca will be without Sergi Roberto through suspension, meaning that Moussa Wague could be thrust into action at right-back due to Semedo's absence.
