Half-Time Report: Barcelona leading AC Milan at the interval

Barcelona lead AC Milan 2-1 at half time in their Champions League clash this evening.

Barcelona are leading AC Milan 2-1 in their Champions League Group H tie this evening.

Xavi had an early sight on goal for the home side when he saw his free kick curl narrowly wide of the post.

Barcelona were dominating the possession and Neymar was next to have an attempt, but his long-range effort failed to test Christian Abbiati in the Milan goal.

Midway through the half Neymar delivered a dangerous ball across the box that Alexis Sanchez was inches away from connecting with.

On the half-hour mark, Barcelona were awarded a penalty after Ignazio Abate dragged down Neymar inside the box, with Lionel Messi stepping up to fire his spot kick down the middle.

Riccardo Montolivo went close to equalising for the visitors when his well-struck effort beat Victor Valdes but went wide.

The hosts doubled their lead in the 39th minute through Sergio Busquets, who headed home a free kick from Xavi.

Milan pulled a goal back on the stroke of half time when Gerard Pique inadvertently diverted a cross from Kaka into his own net.
