Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone believes that new signing Mario Mandzukic will become an important player for the capital outfit.
The Croatian officially completed his move from Bayern Munich last week and will take on the main striking position left by Diego Costa, who has joined Chelsea this summer.
"Mario Mandzukic is an important player who has been at a great level at Bayern in recent years. He's an important striker for the way we want to play and we will have to work hard with him to bring out the very best he can give us," Simeone wrote in his exclusive column for Goal.com.
"We hope he brings his personality, his character and his goals to keep on building a competitive team alongside the other players. Let's hope he's another in Atletico's long line of great strikers."
Mandzukic scored 26 times in 48 games for Bayern last season.
