Raul Jimenez has officially been announced as an Atletico Madrid player after completing his move from Club America.

The 23-year-old forward has been repeatedly linked with a move to the Spanish champions in recent weeks, and he is reported to have cost Atletico up to £8m.

"Raul Jimenez is a player with enormous promise and will complete our offensive line," read a statement from Atletico's sporting director Jose Luis Perez Caminero.

"He has a lot of desire to succeed in his leap to European football, and his hope is that he will adapt quickly to our league."

Jimenez, who appeared at the World Cup for Mexico earlier this summer, has signed a six-year contract with Atletico.
