Diego Simeone pleased with Sevilla point

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone believes that securing a point at Sevilla on Sunday was a good result for the Spanish champions.

Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has branded his side's 0-0 draw against Sevilla on Sunday "a good point".

The Spanish champions are now seven points behind the La Liga leaders Real Madrid, but Simeone was pleased with the result against what he has described as "a direct rival".

"It was a good point against a direct rival," Simeone told reporters. "I wasn't wrong when I said Sevilla would fight for European places. It was a vibrant match, which involved two hard-working teams. I loved the effort of the 22 who played."

Atletico are now just one point ahead of fourth-placed Valencia, who travel to the Vicente Calderon next Sunday.
