Enzo Perez: 'Valencia have what it takes to beat Atletico Madrid'

Valencia midfielder Enzo Perez is confident that his team can beat Atletico Madrid at the Vicente Calderon.

Valencia's Enzo Perez has insisted that his side has what it takes to beat Atletico Madrid this Sunday.

The Argentine midfielder is enjoying life at the Mestalla and is hoping to get a result against his former coach, Diego Simeone, this weekend.

"I had the opportunity to work with Simeone for six months at Estudiantes, though he has progressed since then," the former Benfica man said, according to Goal.com.

"His idea is always to play intensely and not to concede possession. We know it what sort of match it will be, but we'll try to counter them.

"Atletico are the champions, ahead of us [in the league] and at home, so they must be the favourites. But we'll try to play well and do things in the best way possible in order to achieve a favourable result."

Valencia are currently fourth, a point behind Atletico in La Liga, but a win will take Nuno Espirito Santo's side above the reigning Spanish champions and three points behind second-place Barcelona.
