Preview: Malmo vs. Atletico Madrid

Sports Mole looks at the key talking points ahead of Atletico Madrid's trip to Malmo in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Atletico Madrid have the opportunity to put one foot in the next round of the Champions League when they visit Malmo on Tuesday evening.

Last season's beaten finalists have picked up six points from three games, and currently sit top of Group A thanks to a healthy goal difference.

That particular statistic received a boost two weeks ago when a Koke-inspired Atletico side shrugged off a disappointing first half to find the net five times after the break on their way to a 5-0 triumph over Malmo.

Diego Simeone's side have continued their good form since then, and the Spanish champions claimed a fourth successive victory with a 4-2 success over Cordoba at the weekend.

No new injury concerns could mean that Simeone keeps faith with the same side as they look to reach nine points in Group A.

Despite the thrashing they received in the Spanish capital, Malmo remain in contention for a place in the last 16 of the competition.

The Swedish side are currently on three points, but Age Hareide will know that his side need to avoid defeat on Tuesday to ensure those hopes do not become too unrealistic.

However, they head into the difficult challenge on the back of a surprise 2-1 loss to Atvidaberg after Hareide's decision to rest a number of key players backfired in the Swedish top flight.

Recent form

Sports Mole says: 0-3
