Burnley scored a late equaliser to earn a 1-1 draw against Aston Villa in their Premier League clash at Turf Moor this afternoon.

Joe Cole opened the scoring for Villa in the first half, but Danny Ings salvaged a point for Burnley late on when he levelled from the penalty spot.

BURNLEY:

Goal

Tom Heaton: Will not have been pleased at getting beaten at his front post for Cole's goal, but made a number of decent saves that kept his side in the game. (6/10)

Defence

Kieran Trippier: Was forced to defend for large periods of the match, but when he did get forward he whipped some great balls into the box and provided a threat from set pieces. (7/10)

Jason Shackell: Solid display at the back and was rarely caught out in behind by Agbonlahor. (6/10)

Michael Keane: Another decent performance from a Burnley defender. Was strong in the air and forced Villa into shooting from range. (6/10)

Stephen Ward: Struggled against Hutton and Weimann in the first half, but grew into the game and was rarely troubled after the break. (6/10)

Midfield

Dean Marney: Had a decent game in the centre of the midfield and cleared a header off the line in the opening five minutes. (6/10)

Michael Kightly: Worked a good chance for himself in the first half with a shot which went just wide, but should have scored after the break when Guzan denied him from close range. (6/10)

David Jones: Used the ball well and provided some dangerous deliveries from set pieces before he was taken off late on. (6/10)

George Boyd: Lively performance from the winger, who was heavily involved in the second half. He linked up well with the attack and provided some dangerous moments for the Villa defence. (7/10)

Attack

Danny Ings: Always looked a threat and showed great composure to score from the spot in the final minutes when under huge pressure. Almost won the game in stoppage time, but poked his effort against the post. (7/10)

Ashley Barnes: Quiet outing for the striker. He was not involved too much and was replaced by Jutkiewicz shortly after the hour mark. (6/10)

Substitutes

Scott Arfield: Did not make too much of an impact after his arrival. (6/10)

Ross Wallace: Was only on for seven minutes and did not see much of the ball. (6/10)

Lucas Jutkiewicz: Won the penalty for Burnley that was converted by Ings. Had a couple of his side's best chances, but diverted a free kick wide and headed off target in stoppage time. (7/10)

ASTON VILLA:

Goal

Brad Guzan: Made a great save to deny Kightly in the second half, but could not have done anything about the penalty from Ings. (6/10)

Defence

Alan Hutton: Powerful display down the right from the Scot. Was involved in a number of his team's best moves and played some decent balls into the box. (7/10)

Ciaran Clark: Was strong in the air and dealt well with the threat of Ings and Barnes. (6/10)

Jores Okore: Did not have the worst of games, but gave away the all-important penalty with a clumsy challenge on Jutkiewicz. (5/10)

Aly Cissokho: Was not able to get forward too often, but he was reliable at the back and was rarely beaten by Boyd. (6/10)

Midfield

Tom Cleverley: Decent showing from the on-loan midfielder. Rarely misplaced a pass and always looked comfortable on the ball. (6/10)

Carlos Sanchez: Not the best of afternoons for the Colombian international. He gave the ball away cheaply on a number of occasions and put his team in trouble. (5/10)

Ashley Westwood: Battled well in the heart of the midfield. Made good use of the ball and closed down Burnley's attacks. (6/10)

Attack

Andreas Weimann: Set up the first goal with a decent cross to pick out Cole and tested the keeper on a couple of occasions. (7/10)

Joe Cole: Scored the opening goal for Villa and looked a real danger. Played some great passes and gave everything until he was replaced midway through the second half. (8/10)

Gabriel Agbonlahor: Missed a very good chance to score for the hosts when he was slipped through on goal, only to produce a tame finish straight at the keeper. His pace gave Burnley plenty of problems early on, but he faded as the game wore on. (6/10)

Substitutes

Matthew Lowton: Came on deep into stoppage time and did not see much of the ball. (6/10)

Kieran Richardson: Was on for the last 12 minutes, but could not make an impact. (5/10)

Jack Grealish: Looked lively after coming on and tested the keeper in stoppage time with a decent volley from the edge of the box. (6/10)
