Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has expressed his delight at the way his new signings performed during yesterday's 2-1 pre-season friendly win over Burton Albion.
Karim El Ahmadi, Matt Lowton and Brett Holman all featured for the Villains, with the latter scoring the winning goal seven minutes from time.
"It was a great goal from Brett, it really was," he told the club's official website. "I thought Matty never broke sweat. He was excellent. You wouldn't think he's just come out of League One. His performance was really pleasing. He will do great for us.
"I thought Karim, everyone can see he's got quality in the middle of the park."
Lambert took charge of Villa last month.
