Paul Lambert hails "positive week" for Aston Villa

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert hails a "positive week" for the club ahead of their trip to Arsenal in the Premier League.

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert said that he is hopeful of carrying a "positive week" into their game with Arsenal this afternoon.

Villa beat Bournemouth in the FA Cup last week and followed that up with the signing of Scott Sinclair from Manchester City, while Fabian Delph has also signed a new contract.

Lambert told Sky Sports News: "It's been a really positive week, Scott's signing has been positive and Carles [Gil] has come in and been excellent. The week has given us a much-needed lift.

"We've been playing well without scoring as everyone knows and we've brought Carles and Scott in, who everybody knows.

"We can't put too much pressure on Carles, but he's certainly got quality and there's been a different feel in training this week."
