Paul Lambert: 'Everton defeat is harsh'

Paul Lambert says that Aston Villa deserved to take something from the defeat against Everton.

Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert believes that his side did not deserve to lose against Everton this afternoon.

Villa were ahead at half time thanks to Leandro Bacuna's goal, but the Toffees responded in the second period and secured the win with strikes from Steven Naismith and Kevin Mirallas.

"We were excellent up until that first Everton goal, then the second it's a world-class free-kick but I'm not sure we deserved to lose the game," Lambert told BBC Sport.

Villa are 10th in the Premier League table.
