Gabriel Agbonlahor "disappointed" with draw against Southampton

Gabriel Agbonlahor believes that Aston Villa were unfortunate not to win their Premier League match against Southampton.

Aston Villa forward Gabriel Agbonlahor has admitted that he is disappointed his side were not able to claim a victory in their Premier League match against Southampton.

Agbonlahor had given Villa the lead in the first half, but Nathaniel Clyne scored a late equaliser to earn the Saints a 1-1 draw.

"To get the early goal gave us a lot of confidence and you could see throughout we were on top," he told Sky Sports News. "We were disappointed not to win but with where Southampton are in the league we'll take a point.

"It was good to see the fans turn out in such cold weather and we felt we needed to give them a performance.

"I thought that I could have done better with their goal, it was disappointing to concede so late on but they're flying in the league so we'll take a point and move on."

Aston Villa are currently 16th in the Premier League table.
