Aston Villa are through to the fourth round of the FA Cup with a 2-1 win over Ipswich Town at Villa Park.

Aston Villa have come from behind to send Ipswich Town out of the FA Cup at Villa Park this afternoon.

The first big chance fell to Jordan Bowery on the half-hour mark, but his effort was brilliantly kept out by Scott Loach.

The visitors then took the lead just moments later when Michael Chopra's cross was deflected beyond Shay Given by Eric Lichaj.

Darren Bent got Villa back on level terms immediately after the restart, latching onto Charles N'Zogbia's pass and lashing beyond Loach.

The home crowd breathed a huge sigh of relief as Andreas Weimann scored his seventh goal in all competitions to put the home side in the lead.

David McGoldrick, Aaron Cresswell and Aaron McLean all tested Shay Given as the seconds ran down, but none could find the rescuing goal.
