Christian Benteke: 'No favourites for FA Cup semi-final with Liverpool'

Christian Benteke believes that Aston Villa have just as good a chance of reaching the FA Cup final as semi-final opponents Liverpool.

Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke has claimed that there are no favourites for his side's FA Cup semi-final with Liverpool.

The Villans reached the last four of the competition thanks to a 2-0 win over local rivals West Bromwich Albion in the last round.

Villa have struggled for form in the Premier League this season, but Benteke believes that they have just as good a chance of reaching the FA Cup final as Liverpool on Sunday.

"Liverpool are a good team but the thing with the FA Cup is it's still something special. It's 50-50 for me but some will say they are favourites," he is quoted as saying by ITV Sport. "Wembley is something good and special because it's a semi-final, it's close to the final and we have to do everything to be there again."

Benteke has rediscovered his touch in front of goal in recent weeks, scoring four times in his last three matches.
