Monaco play out a goalless draw with Amiens at the Stade Louis II in a match that saw both teams reduced to 10 men late on.

Out-of-form Monaco have drawn 0-0 with Amiens at the Stade Louis II to slip down to third place in the Ligue 1 standings.

Last season's French champions have now taken one point from the last nine on offer and are desperately holding on for a Champions League spot, as fourth-placed Marseille - two points further back - have a game in hand.

Monaco were again left frustrated on home soil in a match that saw both teams reduced to 10 men late on, with the dropped points allowing Lyon to take second place heading into the final few weeks.

The sides managed a combined 23 shots, but just two of those were on target as a lack of quality in the final third prevented Monaco from tightening their hold on the runners-up spot.

Almamy Toure fired over the crossbar and Thomas Lemar sent one narrowly wide of Regis Gurtner's target either side of half time.

Amiens, who had won three of their last four games to climb closer to the top six than the relegation zone, then saw Rony Lopes send a powerful strike past the post.

The visitors were nearly in front 65 minutes in, however, with Danijel Subasic pulling off a fine save to keep out Gael Kakuta's volley.

Thomas Monconduit was then well positioned to keep out Toure in front of goal late on, shortly before Adama Diakhaby and Prince-Desir Gouano were dismissed for an altercation in added time.

MONACO (4-2-3-1): Subasic; Toure, Glik, N'Doram, Raggi (Sylla 75'); Mourinho, Fabinho; Boschilia (Diakhaby 57'), Lemar, Rony Lopes (Mboula 84'); Falcao

AMIENS (4-4-1-1): Gurtner; El Hajjam, Gouano, Adenon, Avelar; Cornette (Bourgaud 73'), Zungu (Fofana 80'), Monconduit, Manzala; Kakuta; Konate (Bodmer 89')
