Half-Time Report: Javier Pastore header gives Paris Saint-Germain the lead

Javier Pastore's early goal gives Paris Saint-Germain the lead against Monaco in their vital Ligue 1 clash this evening.

Javier Pastore's early goal has given Paris Saint-Germain a 1-0 lead going into half time against Monaco in their top-of-the-table Ligue 1 clash this evening.

After a feisty start to the game, a corner into the box was headed in uncontested by Pastore following a deflection off Jeremy Toulalan.

Monaco almost equalised when Lucas Ocampos's shot from the edge of the area was saved by PSG keeper Salvatore Sirigu, with the onrushing Emmanuel Riviere only poking the rebound wide.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic then missed a great chance to double the score for the visitors when he skewed wide from a ball across the box following good work by Pastore and Maxwell.

PSG grew into the game as the half progressed, and the impressive Pastore came close when he beat Eric Abidal and got into the box; but instead of squaring it to the better placed Ibrahimovic, he fired wide.
